A Message From Art

For eleven years, I managed a medical research lab at the University of California, San Francisco.

I was proud of the work we were doing, investigating the roles of changes in estrogen and progesterone during pregnancy.

But I knew — somewhere deep down — it wasn't where I belonged. It wasn't where I could contribute the most.

And for eight years, I stayed stuck.

Not because I was lazy. Not because I didn't want to change. But because I had one belief running quietly in the background that I didn't even know was there: my next move had to prove who I was.

That belief kept me frozen. Every option felt like a test I might fail.

Then one day I saw a flyer on a bulletin board. It said: "Introduction to NLP — Neuro-Linguistic Programming."

And it literally felt like a bolt of lightning hit me on top of the head and went straight down my midline.

I was shocked.

The scientist in me was thinking: "What was that?"

The mystic in me was thinking: that was a sign.

I went back inside, and almost by accident, picked up a book — one book, sitting among twenty books on intuition, that had nothing to do with intuition. It was on NLP.

I read it. And something in me woke up.

When that one limiting belief finally broke, it was like a door swinging open. I was free — free to experiment, to grow, to find out what I was actually capable of. I threw myself into NLP. And at the same time, I was studying spirituality and energy work. The people in my NLP programs introduced me to my first teachers in that world.

And that's when I discovered something that changed the entire direction of my life:

NLP was miraculous. Spirituality and energy work were miraculous. But when you put them together — you had something far greater than any one of them alone.

I had no business attending my first NLP program. It was an advanced course. I signed up anyway, because I had to know if this was what I thought it was.

It was a ten-day program, split into two five-day intensives a month apart.

During that first five days, we'd break into small groups and practice on each other.

I didn't really know what I was doing. But somehow, things just seemed to make sense to me.

When I came back for the second five days, something unexpected happened.

Five or six people walked up to me, one by one, and said the same thing:

"The work we did together last time — it changed my life."

In that moment, I knew.

Not intellectually. Not as a plan or a hope or a possibility.

I knew — the way you know the things that matter most — that this was what I was here to do.

That was over 41 years ago.

Since then I've spent those years developing, refining, and teaching Energetic NLP — a system that combines the precision of NLP with the depth of energy work, spirituality, and karmic clearing. A system built on one belief that I've seen proven thousands of times:
